Thank you so much for this Alex. I appreciate the perspective. One challenge in skill focused courses is to assess students on the acquisition and sometime mastery of a skill. That require serious time commitment. If I see commitment, I try my level best to pass. But sometimes as instructors it is our obligation to point out the missing elements and the only way to make that signal go through is either a lower grade or an F.
