Of light.

--

Why do I not speak?

What am I afraid of?

Is it approval I seek? I think silence will help me get there.

Can I not see the color of my skin? The tone of my accent?

I am a child of darkness.

They? Of light.

To darkness I belong. To darkness I return.

Un mourned. Not grieved. Not missed.

Unworthy.

Lest the color of my blood, offend those of light.

I didn’t pick your shade of red.

Please forgive the affront to your sensibilities.

I deserve all that you send my way.

The tyranny of your words.

The sting of your ignorance.

The contempt of your denials.

This hiss of your falling wrath and anger.

You can have your world.

For I have finally found peace.

In darkness.
